  A Historical Note...

Dhrishti was established in Chicago, IL in June 2001 by Shebani and Madan Kulkarni to present creative theme based events incorporating music, performing arts, fine arts and literature. Five years and over 50 presentations later, Dhrishti has gained a reputation for its artistic and professionally presented events.

Artistes of international stature are approached with profound concepts in advance, which are then presented in a unique format to patrons of art and culture. Events by Dhrishti have been unique, wherein artistes from around the world have collaborated with South Asian artistes to present a variety of themes with harmony and grace.

"Music has a potential to unify which is unique to today's society. Music does not recognize any boundaries and is unifying in nature : music can be a passion or a profession, or both. It is therapeutic and spiritually uplifting."

Shebani and Madan firmly believe that India has the spiritual wisdom in the older and experienced generation, and abundance of talent in the new generation, especially in towns and villages. If these two forces are brought together, India has the potential to be a torch- bearer for the new world through its spirituality, which it reflects through its art and culture. 

This concept gathered steam and in 2003, with the help of like minded patrons, a decision was reached to find a permanent base for these activities. In July 2003, the Meadow Club was acquired. This superb facility is located on seven prime acres in one of Chicago land’s most sought after location. Currently under construction as an addition to this facility is a convention and banquet center, a performing arts theatre and recording studio, a music and arts academy, a business and social club, a multi-cuisine restaurant with a live performance jazz bar and a health and yoga center. This exclusive facility of 160,000 sq. ft was purchased and developed by the principal group of Mr Madan Kulkarni, Mr. Dhru Desai- a software and telecom entrepreneur and Mr. Thakor J Patel- a hospitality entrepreneur.

Patrons of art and culture from all over the world have come forward to nurture this sincere effort and the stage is now set to fulfill the above objectives with the launch of the Dhrishti Foundation, which is based in, and will be expanded within India. With the support of an encouraging group of artistes, academicians and friends in the corporate world, the vision is evolving into a reality.
